WE BUY LEFTOVER WIRE FROM BUILDERS IN HORACE, ND
Underground is the default in Horace. Streets go in before the houses, the trench is open once, and the service lateral follows it. That single fact shapes what surplus looks like here. Most of the wire in town is bought in bulk, buried once, and never seen again.
Builders buy URD and USE-2 by the reel and keep the remainder for the next lot. When a plat finishes, a part reel of 2/0 URD and a coil of #6 bare copper can sit in a garage bay for a season. Sellers in Horace send us those remainders along with SER cut too short for a panel swap.
Direct-burial cable and what the trench leaves
URD is ordered in even lengths, and even lengths are wrong about half the time. The leftover is a reel with 300 feet on it, sun-faded, with the neutral identified by a stripe that has gone chalky. That is still quotable. Tell us the size, the conductor count, and how much of the jacket has been exposed to weather.
USE-2 shows up the same way, often still banded. If the reel sat on a pallet outdoors, check the jacket for cracking near the flange before you photograph it, since that is the first place it goes. Coils and small reels both turn up, and the coil is the one that gets buried under other material and damaged first.
New construction leftovers on small lots
Residential work leaves short lengths, and short lengths are the hardest thing to describe. A coil of #12 with no tag could be 40 feet or 140. Weigh it if you have a scale, and give us the approximate outside diameter of the coil. A coil that still has the manufacturer band on it is worth more of your time than a loose loop in a bucket.
Garage circuits, exterior receptacles, and detached shop subpanels account for most of it. SER in aluminum, THHN in copper, and green grounding wire in several sizes. Box it, label the box by size, and the review goes faster. If a panel change left a length of SER too short for anything you would install again, that is still a describable item.

Loading and freight from Horace
Horace loads from driveways and garage bays more often than from a dock, so coils and single reels are the norm. I-29 is a short run away and LTL can pick up from a residential address with a liftgate. Tell us what a truck can reach and we will match the equipment.
